The Samick Discovery ILF recurve bow is a metal riser bow with all of the top end features, but without all the top end cost. Sturdy, dependable, and fully adjustable, the Samick Discovery is destined to earn its place as one of the nicest, most affordable metal riser recurves on the market.

Riser: 21" long CnC machined 7071 aluminum billet with an anodized finish. Features lateral limb adjustment, adjustable tiller, and weight adjustments (±5%). Comfortable bow grip. Tapped with ATA accessory, front stabilizer, and dual plunger holes.

Offered in right and left handed, in colors of Black, Platinum silver, Muddy Oak brown, and Forest green. Includes a nylon fleece-lined bow case and hardware. An elevated arrow rest is sold separately. See elevated arrow rests here.

Limbs: Both limb cores feature a carbon strip for rigidity to prevent lateral movement during the shot and faster recovery after the shot. Making your limbs perform at their best on every shot. Both are made with solid phenolic wedges, reinforced tips for using with high performance strings, and a stealthy matte finish for an extremely efficient and effective hunting limb in all conditions.

  • R1 Wood Core- A seamless blending of wood and carbon performance makes them smooth and reliable. Uses two laminations of maple in the core for exceptional performance and incredibly smooth draws. Learn more about Samick R1 wood core recurve limbs here.
  • R3 Foam Core - Using foam instead of wood for a limb's core offers the BEST performance shot after shot. Foam is a synthetic material, making it uniform and consistent the entire length of the lamination. No grain patterns or imperfections. Foam is lighter in weight than wood for faster recovery of the limbs. Foam is also impervious to weather conditions, so feel confident in your shooting anywhere, any conditions. ILF stands for "International Limb Fitting." The ILF system has been widely used since its development in the mid-1980s because of its capacity for fine-tuning, as well as its adaptability. You can swap out different pull weights, lengths, and styles of limbs on the riser quickly and easily due to the no-tools assembly. You can even mix and match sets of limbs and risers from different manufacturers, as long as they are ILF compatible.

Choose from a left or right handed bow (choose based on what hand you Draw the bow string with), and bow weight at a 28" draw length. Remember that with a traditional bow the weight will change depending upon what your draw length is. Bow weight will change approximately ±2½ pounds for every inch from a bows rated draw length. So a bow rated 45# @ 28" bow is roughly a 42½# @ 27" or 47½# @ 29". Draw weight is marked at the nearest 5# increment to actual weight, (2#'s under and 3#'s over). This is an industry wide standard.

Minimum Arrow Weight - Do not shoot an arrow weighing less than eight grains for every pound of peak draw weight. For example: If your bow's peak weight is 40 pounds at your 30" draw length, do not shoot an arrow weighing less than 320 grains total arrow weight (40# x 8 gpp = 320 grains). Shooting an arrow below eight grains per pound (gpp) can cause damage to your bow similar to dry firing and possible injury to the shooter or others nearby. Damage caused by shooting an arrow that is too light will damage the bow and will not be covered under warranty by 3Rivers Archery or bow manufacturer.
