The elements can be particularly harsh for muzzleloading hunters. A drop of water or snow can douse the pan and ruin your hunt. This Lock Cover is based on an old tried-and-true design used by our forefathers.
In the old days, hunters would use a dried calf or deer joint to mold and fit over the lock of a flintlock rifle. This would shield the flash pan from the elements and help keep the powder dry.
The Lock Cover follows that original design and is made from quality 100% cowhide. It's been updated with a leather strap and brass rivet that holds it securely over most small to medium locks on flintlock and percussion guns.
At approximately 7" x 4-1/2" it is small enough to store in your possibles bag or pack, so you'll always have it at hand when bad weather strikes.
