Carbon is the most versatile of arrow shafting. It offers many options for nocks, points, and adding weight. Carbon is easier to get 'On-Target' with faster in-flight recovery. Perfect for the beginner to archery as carbon arrows have the benefit of being low-maintenance with unbending straightness.
Aluminum is strong and easy to tune. It is heavier in weight than carbon for better penetration. Aluminum is the most consistent in straightness and weight tolerances for any shaft material available for solid performance.
Wood is the heritage of traditional archery. It is less expensive, but requires more maintenance, but NOTHING has the look or feel of a perfectly tuned wood arrow in-flight.
Choose from the top brands and models of shafts available here at 3Rivers Archery. We offer the best for the traditional archer and are always expanding our offerings. If you do not see a brand or model of shaft you prefer, let us know. It may be one we pick up to sell. Learn more about the shafting we offer r here.
The Deflection/Spine refers to how the arrow bends under pressure. Use a spine chart or our dynamic spine calculator for determining what will work best for you. Or call us at 260-587-9501 for expert advice from a 3Rivers' Tech.
The length dropdown is the 'DEFAULT LENGTH' in inches of the shaft you have selected. It can be cut down from this length, but cannot be longer. PACKAGE COUNT refers to how many individual shafts you are purchasing. Please note, we sell some shafts by the 6-pack, but components such as feathers, nocks, points, or inserts may only be sold by the dozen. In this case, we will install what we can (if ordered), but will include additional components with your finished arrows.
You are choosing how many feathers you want mounted to each arrow shaft. 3-Fletch is the most common with one feather every 120° with the main feather (refered to normally as the cock feather) set to align with the top of the arrow nock. For 4-fletch we put the four feathers at 90° apart.
The more feathers you have on an arrow the more stabile in-flight the arrow will be, but it will also be noiser and slower. It is a personal preference.
The size of the feather affects the stability and speed of the arrow during flight. A larger feather stabilizes the rotation of an arrow during flight while a smaller feather provides faster arrow speed. Choosing Shield or Parabolic (shape/profile) is a personal choice, as there is no significant impact on arrow flight.
The wing is in reference to which side of the turkey the feather was harvested and only controls the direction of the arrow rotation in flight. For the choice of Right Wing versus Left Wing feathers, it is a personal choice as there is no distinguishable performance difference between the two.
Choose from our large selection of colors for your feathers and arrow wraps. We require an Arrow Wrap with every arrow (other than wood shafting) for the secure glue hold and easy refletching options they offer.
The cock feather is typically an opposing color to the hen feathers for easy, quick alignment when placing the arrow on the string. 4-Fletch is most commonly 2 feather colors fletched 90 degrees apart opposing one another.
We offer a standard custom fletch and express custom fletch. We work hard to get our custom fletch orders out as fast as we can, but express fletch orders get pushed to next in line. If you are in need of our arrows fletched as fast as we possible can, go for express. NOTE: This only applies to the fletching service. Shipping charge/time is separate/additional.
A Uni-bushing installs between the end of the arrow and the arrow nock. They provide near perfect alignment of the nock to the center of the arrow. Not all arrows accept Uni-bushings. A message will tell you if your arrow selection will not accept Uni-bushings. NOTE: An arrow uses different nocks when using a Uni-bushing. Our selection options for nocks will update depending upon your selection for Uni-Bushing. Learn more about Uni-Bushings here
Most carbon and aluminum arrows come with a nock pre-installed. That is defined as (default) in the dropdown selections. You can choose a different color/model nock and we will install them and include the default nocks with your finished arrows.
Nock collars are a method of reinforcing your arrow from back end impacts from other arrows and keeps the nock pinched inplace so it does not fly out of the shaft on hard impacts. Learn more about nock collars here.
Listed are inserts that will work with your arrow. Arrows that come with included inserts are labelled with 'Default' next to them in the dropdown selection. If you choose a different option, you still will get the default inserts included with your arrows.
After making a selection you will choose if you want 3Rivers to install your selected inserts.
Listed are standard archery tips that will work with your arrows. This is a small selection of what we offer, but the most popular offering. If you want something else, please add it to your order after finished with the arrow builder and add a comment to the order if you want us to install them at an additional fee.
Point collars are a method of reinforcing your arrow from front end impacts. Learn more about point collars here.
Weight Tubes slide inside carbon arrows to add additonal grains per inch (gpi) weight to an arrow. Learn more about weight tubes here. Weight tubes do not work with all carbon arrows. If option is not available, your shaft selection does not work.
